The students of ASUHP visited the library for the blind in Komsomolsk

The Students of the 3rd year of the Institute of Pedagogy and Psychology of the direction of training "Special (defectological) education" profile "Special psychology" and the 2nd year of secondary vocational education profile "Physical Culture" visited within the framework of the studied disciplines (teacher I.K. Badikova - associate professor of the Department of Preschool and Correctional Pedagogy and Psychology) the only specialized cultural institution for the visually impaired - a branch of the Khabarovsk Regional specialized library for the blind in Komsomolsk-on-Amur. The Students had the opportunity to get acquainted with the lives of people with impaired vision of our city, the novelties of the library fund: to see books printed in a font designed by blind Louis Braille, computer programs and technical means that allow people with visual problems to get acquainted with the content of literary works. Of particular interest were the books voiced for children from the "Magic Pencil" series, flat-printed manuals and tactile didactic manuals for children taking into account the specifics of age and development. The brightest emotions remained with future teachers from obtaining practical skills at a master class on writing and reading in Braille, which was conducted by a reader of this library, Elena Pavlovna. In the course of such practice-oriented classes, inclusive competencies are formed among students of higher and secondary vocational education. Future teachers use theoretical knowledge in practice, learn optimism and a positive attitude to life. We thank the library staff for an interesting and useful meeting.
